Europe Hospitals continues to invest in the future of its infrastructure. The renovation of the intensive care unit at the St Elisabeth site in Uccle marks an important milestone within an ambitious architectural programme aimed at further enhancing the quality of healthcare for the people of Brussels.

A technically challenging renovation in a fully operational hospital

Renovation projects within a hospital environment require a completely different approach from traditional construction projects. The greatest challenge lies in dismantling existing installations and integrating entirely new technologies while ensuring that daily hospital operations continue without interruption.

This requires meticulous planning, phased execution and continuous coordination with other construction partners and the hospital organisation. In this way, disruption for patients, visitors and healthcare professionals is kept to an absolute minimum.

A complete package of electrical installations

On the renovated sixth floor, EEG Namur was responsible for the entire electrical scope of the project. The works included the renewal of electrical switchboards, the installation of interior and emergency lighting, fire detection systems, nurse call systems, data and telephony infrastructure, multimedia and information management systems, as well as access control.

By seamlessly integrating all these technologies, EEG Namur helps create a safe, high-performance and future-ready healthcare environment where both patients and healthcare professionals can perform at their best.

The project was completed in autumn 2025.
